PostSubject: Talking about showing your age   Wed Aug 01, 2007 2:01 am

I'm sitting here at work being bored. Listening to 80's hair metal like motley crue and warrant, and 90's alternative mainly Bush and Nirvana. It got me to thinking, i miss the 80's and 90's. lots of good music came from those eras. you can call me old anytime lol!

Yeah men. In our country, 90's was the biggest era for our own music. Alternative rock spread like fire back then. However, lousy pop bands are taking the charts now

Thanks to Guitar Hero I like the 80s rock as well, lol.
Btw, Bush was alright, but Gavin Rossdale still makes kickass music. First with a band called Institute (album: Distort Yourself), and this fall he will release a solo album of which there are currently two songs used (in a movie and TV theme), called Can't Stop The World and Adrenaline.

I must say Im completely in love with todays music though, there's enough crap as well, but loads of bands make up for it.

What usually helps, is not looking for their pictures or story, but just listen to the music. Makes a lot of bands better Smile

If i have to talk about showing my age, i can say that Pokémons ruled my generation. I loved them, Psyduck was my favorite one..

And about music, there was a time i was listening Shakira and Backstreet Boys but it didn't took so long (thanks to god : ) Don't blame me, i was only fifteen! Everybody are fool when they're fifteen.

Then i met RHCP with their album 'By the Way' at my sixteen (which means i was trying to get rid of foolness ; ) The Cranberries followed them and it continued with classics Pink Floyd, The Beatles etc..

Last year i turned my face to classics a bit more, met Tchaikovsky (i wrote his name at once and without mistakes, and that means i'm one of his real fans : ), Rachmaninoff etc..

Nowadays i'm listening Pink Martini and Norah Jones.

I also enjoy the Cranberries, Pink Flyd, The Who, Beatles, Whitesnake, RHCP, Bon Jovi and quite a few others. Needless to say, i was raised in the 80's and i love my HAIR METAL!

I started it out with the horrible pop things like Aqua - Barbie Girl and bands like Backstreet Boys like Anothony said.
Somewhere in between I started listening to trance and the like, but then...
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory, my first (heavy) rock album that opened up a complete new world.
First metal came for me when Atreyu released their CD called the Curse, and from there on I've been expanding my rock love to all corners. Everything with a guitar works now.

I still isten to the occasional trance stuff, and my dad and uncle got me into (Smooth) Jazz.

Personally, I started out with Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls" , then after that, it was metallica, then bon jovi then warrent, trixter, skid row, slaughter, twisted sister, quiet riot....well you get the point. then when the 90's came around i started listening to NIN, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stabbing Westward, Live, Collective Soul, Alanis Morisette...quite a bit of mixture in my music tastes
